Sorry to suggest this if you already looked at that, but what type of shadow
do you use? And is it enabled? (Shadow maps in the lights panel, raytraced
in the camera panel). For raytraced shadows double sided is only sometimes
necessary; the light coming from the lamp should be able to 'see' the faces.
You can also check the if the faces are planar, or if the point are all merged.
